Role Overview

M12, the corporate venture capital arm of Microsoft, is hiring an Associate to join its investment team in San Francisco. Since launching in 2016, M12 has backed and helped build over 100 companies in Artificial Intelligence, B2B SaaS, Cloud Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, DevOps, and Gaming/Web3, supporting portfolio companies with special access to Microsoft's platform and services.

Key Responsibilities

- Research and Market Exploration: continuously monitor market trends, industry news and startups in thematic areas of interest; track relevant VCs, entrepreneurs, industry leaders and sector experts; produce high-quality market and industry research to develop new insights.

- Deal Sourcing and Investment Support: attend industry conferences to build relationships with startups and venture investors; source deals aligned to M12's key themes and thesis areas; assist with due diligence across technological, industrial, intellectual property, commercial, economic, financial, HR, legal and compliance dimensions.

- Support the broader investment team with thesis development, deal execution and portfolio company assistance.
