Senior Associate/ Vice President – Fund Management

BlackSoil Global, a Singapore-based alternative credit firm, is hiring a Senior Associate / Vice President for its investment and fund management team. BlackSoil provides tailored financing solutions to sustainable, high-potential businesses operating at the intersection of advanced technology and customer experience, and describes itself as a sector-agnostic investor supporting early- to growth-stage companies across Southeast Asia and beyond.

The role sits within the firm's private credit and alternative investment strategy team, spanning investment execution, portfolio management, fund operations and investor relations. Core responsibilities include originating, evaluating and executing private credit and structured investment opportunities; preparing investment memoranda, financial models and credit assessments; and monitoring portfolio companies for covenant compliance, repayments, performance and risk. The successful candidate will also support transaction structuring, due diligence and closing processes alongside senior investment professionals.

On the fund management side, the hire will help manage BlackSoil's Singapore-based investment funds, developing familiarity with Singapore VCC structures, sub-funds, share classes and fund administration frameworks, while coordinating with fund administrators, custodians, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers. Duties extend to fund reporting, NAV processes, capital calls, distributions and investor documentation, as well as regulatory and governance matters applicable to a MAS-regulated fund manager.

The role also carries an investor-relations and business-development component: supporting relationships with institutional investors, family offices, development finance institutions (DFIs) and wealth managers; preparing quarterly investor reports and fundraising materials; assisting with investor due diligence, RFPs and DDQs; and identifying new LPs and investment opportunities across Singapore, Asia-Pacific and international markets.

BlackSoil is looking for a candidate with at least five years of relevant experience in private credit, venture debt, private equity, asset management, investment banking or corporate finance, with strong financial modelling and analytical skills. Familiarity with Singapore VCC structures and MAS-regulated fund management, exposure to institutional LPs, and a CFA charter or progress toward one are viewed favourably, as is experience across India and/or Southeast Asia. A bachelor's or master's degree in finance, economics, accounting, business or a related discipline is required.

The position offers direct exposure to private credit, venture debt and alternative investments across Asia, hands-on interaction with institutional investors and senior investment professionals, and involvement across the full fund lifecycle from origination through fundraising and fund operations, with performance-linked compensation.
