Special Sits Investing Mandate – Associate/ Vice President

Sixth Street, a global investment firm founded in 2009, is hiring an Associate/Vice President for its Fundamental Strategies platform — an opportunistic investment strategy focused on stressed and distressed credit and other special situations in the public markets. The strategy takes an industry-agnostic, value-oriented approach across themes, sectors, geographies and asset classes, matching the firm's flexible, long-term capital base.

Core responsibilities include analyzing themes and identifying investment opportunities across industries and capital structures, primarily in stressed and distressed credit; conducting quantitative and qualitative underwriting across risk/return profiles; performing detailed financial modeling and leading due diligence; analyzing financial statements, financing terms, covenants, legal/bankruptcy documents, restructuring plans, and capital structures; working with attorneys, brokers, bankers and consultants to evaluate, source, negotiate and structure transactions; managing portfolio investments and restructurings; contributing to the opportunistic formation of additional investment vehicles; and preparing investment memoranda outlining thesis, financial analysis and risk/return.

Sixth Street is looking for candidates with relevant investing experience in private equity, public credit, or stressed and distressed credit, with depth of knowledge in credit and special situations underwriting, strong work ethic, and a team-oriented mindset. The annualized base pay is expected to be between $175,000 and $225,000. Sixth Street builds businesses, invests for growth, acquires assets, provides direct financing, and develops bespoke structures for management teams globally, working on behalf of institutional investors and beneficiaries worldwide.
