About This Role

Blue Orb is a U.S.-based renewable energy infrastructure company that creates, sponsors, funds, and executes renewable power projects worldwide with a mission to leave all stakeholders positioned for sustainability across ecology, community, and economy. The firm deploys capital across the full capital stack for renewable energy developments, targeting utility and infrastructure opportunities that generate extraordinary risk-adjusted returns while delivering measurable environmental and social impact.

The Managing Director, Renewables, is a senior leadership role accountable for building relationships with renewable energy developers and identifying opportunities to advise on and fund nascent power projects. The MD will lead a team of finance professionals in sourcing, nurturing, and closing investment opportunities across renewable energy projects, executing capital investments, and managing investor relations.

The role encompasses investment strategy, financial analysis, and deal execution across a global pipeline. Key responsibilities include developing and executing investment strategies for identifying, evaluating, and acquiring renewable energy projects in targeted global markets, overseeing comprehensive financial analysis and rigorous due diligence to assess viability, risks, and returns of potential investments, and managing relationships with key stakeholders including developers, funds, capital partners, financial institutions, and government agencies.

The Managing Director will lead negotiations and execute complex financing and transactions for renewable energy projects, with a focus on structuring deals across the full capital structure including senior debt, mezzanine financing, and common equity. Portfolio management responsibilities include monitoring performance of renewable energy assets, optimizing portfolio performance, and identifying opportunities for growth and diversification.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in renewable energy investment or project finance, strong financial modeling and valuation skills, an extensive network of developer and capital partner relationships, and up-to-date knowledge of ESG considerations, policy changes, and technological advancements in the renewable energy sector. A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree in business or finance is preferred.
