About This Role

Bainbridge Capital is seeking an Associate for its Deal Origination function, based in San Diego, CA. This role sits at the intersection of private equity, deal sourcing, and relationship management, offering significant upward mobility for a successful professional.

The primary responsibility of the Associate is to build relationships with business owners in order to find new investment opportunities for Bainbridge Capital's private equity and corporate partners. Candidates will be creating business relationships for a significant part of the day, including cold calling to sophisticated owners of privately held companies.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Origination (80% of time): Communicate regularly and build deep relationships with C-level executives and business owners. Network directly with business owners in industries of interest. Build relationships with capital providers, including private equity groups, family offices, endowments, pension plans, high-net-worth individuals, and corporate acquirers.

Account Management (10%): Process new deals by logging them into the CRM. Provide written profiles on each opportunity to present to potential buyers. Manage a pipeline of opportunities from origination to deal close. Communicate the firm's interest and provide feedback to business owners.

Industry Research (5%): Identify new investment strategies in various sectors. Detail and present case studies based on industry attractiveness.

Corporate Development (5%): Participate in corporate development initiatives to improve the business.

Qualifications: 1-3 years of experience in a business development role with a track record of success. Undergraduate degree with history of strong academic performance. Knowledge of private equity and current M&A trends. Enthusiastic, personable, high integrity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills required for interactions with senior professionals including Partners, Managing Directors, and CEOs.
