Investment Officer - Venture Capital and Private Equity

Role Overview

UBS is hiring an Investment Officer for its Unified Global Alternatives (UGA) Platform, focused on Venture Capital and Private Equity fund investing, based in New York or San Francisco. The role reports to the UGA Head of Private Equity Americas and shapes VC/PE allocations for Asset and Wealth Management clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Source and originate access-constrained GP relationships from personal network and the intermediary community, including tracking spin-out candidates

- Conduct detailed due diligence on prospective venture capital, growth equity, and private equity funds, including performance analysis, fund manager evaluations, and risk assessments

- Monitor and analyze the performance of existing fund investments, reporting to senior management

- Develop and maintain financial models supporting investment decisions

- Prepare investment reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders

- Support distribution teams in SMA or fund product pitches across Asset and Wealth Management clients

- Assist in negotiation and structuring of investment agreements

Qualifications

- 7+ years of experience in private equity, fund of funds, or related investment roles

- Primary-focused role, but understanding of secondaries and co-investments is critical

- Proven ability to conduct thorough due diligence and risk assessments

- Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA designation preferred

- Strong network within Venture Capital and deep GP relationships required
