About This Role
Marathon Asset Management is a leading global asset manager specializing in public and private credit, with approximately $24 billion in assets under management and 27+ years of exceptional performance. Marathon's integrated global credit platform spans Private Credit (Direct Lending, Asset Based Lending, and Opportunistic Credit) as well as Public Credit (High Yield, Leveraged Loans & CLOs, Emerging Markets, and Structured Credit).
The Managing Director, Originations role leads Marathon's sponsor coverage initiative within the Opportunistic Credit platform, with a specific focus on middle-market and upper middle-market private equity sponsors. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining strong relationships with sponsors, management teams, and intermediaries to generate proprietary deal flow; driving coverage strategy through CRM systems and structured outreach frameworks; and partnering with the investment team on underwriting, structuring, and executing investments. The role also involves generating actionable intelligence on portfolio company activity, liquidity needs, and recapitalization events.
This is a senior market-facing role requiring a polished presence and credibility within the credit markets ecosystem. The MD will represent Marathon in the market while helping expand its footprint in opportunistic and sponsor-backed credit.
