Analyst/Associate, Private Credit

Macquarie Capital Principal Finance is the balance sheet investing arm of Macquarie Capital, one of the world's leading infrastructure and asset management firms. The team has invested over $65 billion globally across 1,000+ transactions since 2009, maintaining a current portfolio of $20B+ across credit strategies.

This Analyst/Associate role is dedicated to the Private Credit strategy, focusing primarily on unitranche financings along with second lien debt, HoldCo PIK loans, mezzanine debt, and preferred equity. The team is generalist, investing across industries, capital structures, and transaction types.

What you will do:

- Identify, analyze, and execute private credit investment opportunities across the capital structure

- Lead due diligence conversations with internal teams, management, and external experts

- Build robust financial models, quality of earnings analyses, and KPI tracking frameworks

- Present investment theses to the investment committee with clear risk/return analysis

- Manage existing portfolio credits; monitor covenants, performance, and exit pathways

- Gather differentiated data from proprietary and market sources to support investment theses

What you bring:

- 1–4 years of experience in leveraged finance, private credit, investment banking, or PE (depending on analyst vs associate level)

- Strong financial modeling skills—LBO, DCF, credit/return modeling

- Ability to work independently on complex transactions in a flat, entrepreneurial team

- Intellectual curiosity with an evidence-based investment approach

- Collaborative team mindset with ambition to grow into a deal originator over time
