Generate Capital is seeking a Principal, Acquisitions to lead energy infrastructure investment activity focused on powering data centers and other large loads. The role involves originating energy infrastructure investment opportunities, including behind-the-meter baseload solutions and pairing of renewables and battery storage with customer load, and owning underwriting and investment execution for large load customer energy assets from initial diligence through investment committee and closing. The Principal will develop a differentiated market perspective through research to identify best-in-class energy developers and large load customers across priority geographies, help scale Generates in-house data center energy platform, and build comprehensive coverage of large-load and data center customers as long-term offtakers to support customer-specific credit underwriting. Candidates should have a minimum of 9-10 years of relevant investment experience in energy, renewables, and/or digital infrastructure sectors with reputable corporates, developers, private equity, or infrastructure funds, along with deep understanding of power and digital infrastructure markets, technologies, and investment risk profiles, including power markets across ISOs and data center developer and customer markets. A track record underwriting and structuring investment types including project/sponsor equity, mezzanine debt, corporate equity, senior debt, and tax equity is required, along with strong quantitative and financial modeling skills and demonstrated ability to mentor junior team members. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $250,000 to $275,000, with an additional discretionary bonus and benefits including health care, retirement, and paid time off.
