Director, Origination

Deerpath Capital is a leading direct lending firm specializing in first lien senior debt financing to middle market companies. The firm focuses on providing debt capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions, and growth capital to companies in the U.S. lower middle market. Deerpath has investment offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Fort Lauderdale, as well as overseas investor relations offices in London, Seoul, Tokyo, and Brisbane, employing approximately 100 people globally.

The Director, Origination will manage and develop sponsor relationships to originate deal flow, screen and identify attractive transaction opportunities, and manage the internal investment approval process including presentation to the investment committee. Key responsibilities include developing transaction structure, negotiating deal terms with sponsors and borrowers, spearheading due diligence, and leading legal documentation review and negotiation. The role also involves monitoring ongoing performance of existing credits.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of overall experience, with 6–10+ years at a buy-side credit or direct lending fund, or in leveraged finance or debt capital markets at an investment bank. Strong financial modeling skills, deal execution experience, and the ability to interface with sponsors and management teams are required. Preference is given to candidates based in Boston, Chicago, or South Florida.
