Associate, Development Investments

Brookfield Properties, the real estate services arm of Brookfield Asset Management, is seeking an Associate to join its Development Investments team in San Diego, California. The role supports the acquisition and execution of complex multifamily and mixed-use development opportunities across the United States and Canada. The Associate will contribute across the full lifecycle of investments including underwriting, investment committee materials, due diligence, execution support, and asset management analytics. Core responsibilities include building and auditing project-level financial models in Excel covering development cash flows, sources and uses, financing, sensitivities, scenario analysis, and returns. The role also includes market and deal-specific research on comparable transactions, rent and expense assumptions, supply-demand dynamics, and capital markets context. The Associate will draft investment committee memos and supporting exhibits, synthesize key risks and recommendations, and support evaluation of partnership structures including the related economics, incentives, and constraints.
