Operating Partner - Finance (CFO/SVP Finance)

Brentwood Associates, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm with 30+ years investing in middle-market growth businesses across essential services and software, is hiring an Operating Partner - Finance (CFO/SVP Finance profile) for its Growth & Operations (GO) team. The role owns the portfolio-wide finance operating system across 18+ active portfolio companies spanning education & training, health services, franchising, and residential services, with decision rights over policy, systems roadmaps, and critical hires. Key responsibilities include codifying close-acceleration and FP&A playbooks, leading the rollout of AI-native performance management tooling, standardizing board and investor reporting, driving working capital optimization, evaluating and deploying ERP/FP&A/billing systems, maturing SaaS-oriented revenue operations, and recruiting and mentoring CFOs and VPs of Finance across the portfolio. The role also supports diligence and post-close value creation planning for new platform investments and add-on acquisitions. Brentwood is seeking a candidate with 15+ years of progressive finance leadership, including at least one seat as CFO or divisional SVP Finance, PE-backed growth-stage experience across multi-site or multi-entity organizations, and hands-on fluency with modern finance systems (NetSuite, MS Dynamics 365, SAP S/4, Adaptive/Anaplan/Planful, Zuora/Chargebee, Tableau/Power BI/Snowflake). Prior PE operating partner experience or consulting to PE-backed CFOs is preferred. The role is U.S.-flexible/remote-hybrid, based primarily from Brentwood's West LA office if Los Angeles-based, with roughly 25% travel to portfolio companies.
