Principal, Alternative Credit (Capital Markets)

Role Overview

Ares Management's Alternative Credit platform (~$57.3B AUM), focused on asset-based finance and tactical asset investing, is hiring a Principal in New York to lead sourcing, origination and business development for its private markets business.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish, build and maintain bank, advisory and lending platform relationships across origination channels

- Facilitate sourcing of deal flow across public and private credit markets

- Develop strategic partnerships/JVs with insurance companies, pensions, asset managers and others to create new deal-sourcing channels

- Drive brand development for Alternative Credit through conferences, panels and industry events

- Provide proactive market intelligence to the Alternative Credit team and across the Ares platform

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or international equivalent; minimum 10-15+ years' experience at a top investment firm, investment bank or similar organization, including capital markets, investment banking, leveraged finance, buy-side M&A, structured product sales/syndications and/or principal investing.
