Aksia is an alternative investments specialist providing investment management, advisory, and research services across private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds. With more than 450 professionals — including over 170 investment professionals — across nine global offices, Aksia oversaw $360 billion of assets under supervision as of December 31, 2025, of which $115 billion was private equity assets under supervision.

Aksia is seeking an Associate to join its Private Equity investment team in San Diego, California. The team is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, and investing in private equity primary funds, co-investments, and secondaries, with this role focused primarily on primary fund investments emphasizing North American buyouts.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative fund due diligence, including performance and attribution analysis

- Prepare investment memorandums and supporting materials for Aksia's Investment Committee

- Collaborate with the dedicated co-investment team in sourcing and evaluating opportunities

- Underwrite LP-led secondary transactions alongside the dedicated secondaries team

- Monitor market trends and macroeconomic factors affecting private equity markets

- Support portfolio monitoring, including manager reviews and performance analysis

- Build and maintain relationships with general partners and industry participants

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with strong academics in finance, economics, business, or a related field

- 2-5 years of relevant experience at an institutional investment firm, asset manager, or financial institution with exposure to underwriting private equity investments

- Strong analytical capabilities and financial modeling skills

- Excellent qualitative assessment, written, and verbal communication skills

- High degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, integrity, and commercial judgment

The estimated base salary range is $90,000-$115,000 (specific to California), plus a discretionary performance bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
