Role Overview

Aksia is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join its Private Equity investment team in San Diego, California, focused primarily on private equity primary fund investments with an emphasis on North American buyouts. Aksia is an alternative investments specialist providing investment management, advisory, and research services across private equity, private credit, real assets, and hedge funds, employing more than 450 professionals (170+ investment professionals) across nine global offices, with $343 billion in assets under supervision (as of May 31, 2026). The firm's private equity team alone oversees $116 billion in PE assets under supervision.

Team

Aksia's private equity investment team sources, evaluates, and invests in PE primary funds, co-investments, and secondaries. This Associate will work closely with senior investment professionals and collaborate across the broader PE platform, including the co-investment and secondaries teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct qualitative and quantitative fund due diligence, including performance and attribution analysis

- Prepare investment memorandums and materials for Aksia's Investment Committee

- Collaborate with the co-investment team on sourcing and evaluating opportunities

- Underwrite LP-led secondary transactions with the dedicated secondaries team

- Monitor market trends and macro factors affecting private equity markets

- Support portfolio monitoring, including manager reviews and performance analysis

- Build and maintain relationships with general partners and industry participants

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree with strong academics in finance, economics, business, or related field

- 1-4 years of relevant experience at an institutional investment firm, asset manager, or financial institution with private equity underwriting exposure

- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

- Excellent qualitative assessment and communication skills

- High degree of initiative, intellectual curiosity, integrity, and commercial judgment
