Venture Capital Associate, Tulane Ventures

Tulane Ventures, the venture investment arm of Tulane University, is hiring a Venture Capital Analyst III / Venture Capital Associate to join its growing investment team in New Orleans. The role offers a unique opportunity to work directly with the Chief Innovation & Entrepreneurship Officer / Managing Director and to play a key part across the full investment lifecycle: sourcing, due diligence, execution, portfolio management, fund operations, and limited partner reporting.

Responsibilities for this role center on evaluating early-stage ventures and supporting the fund's investment process from sourcing through exit. The associate will be expected to conduct market research, evaluate business models, and perform basic financial analysis for early-stage companies, while also engaging directly with founders, co-investors, and university stakeholders.

Qualifications sought include strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to conduct market research, evaluate business models, and perform financial analysis for early-stage ventures. Candidates should have familiarity with startups, venture financing, commercialization, and innovation management, ideally gained in an academic or comparable environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, including the ability to prepare presentations, reports, pitch decks, and stakeholder correspondence. The role also demands solid organizational and project management skills to manage multiple projects, coordinate meetings and events, and maintain accurate venture-related records, along with strong stakeholder engagement skills to build collaborative relationships across the university and the broader venture ecosystem.
