Role Overview

Tobin Capital Group (TCG), a Stanford Graduate School of Business-founded, tech-enabled private equity firm focused on owning and operating real estate, is hiring a Vice President, Acquisitions to lead deal execution for its growing self-storage and manufactured-housing portfolio. TCG owns and operates $540M of real estate across 67 properties in six states and is raising its second fund ($250M targeting $625M of acquisitions) as it aims to 5x its portfolio within five years.

Key Responsibilities

- Own the deal pipeline: drive flow through proprietary systems, broker relationships and off-market channels, partnering with the CEO on investment theses for target markets and asset types

- Lead deal screening and offers, managing diligence and presenting pricing/terms to the CEO

- Own underwriting and financial modeling, building acquisition and capital-stack models and guiding junior team members

- Direct due diligence end-to-end and serve as primary point of contact with sellers, lenders and counsel through closing

- Prepare and present Investment Committee memoranda and manage closing execution through handoff to Operations and Accounting

- Mentor and build the acquisitions team, developing associates and analysts

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree (major agnostic)

- 5-8 years of real estate acquisitions experience with direct deal execution and closing; investment banking or related transaction backgrounds also considered

- Strong track record leading deals from sourcing through close

- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-management skills

- Advanced analytical, quantitative and technical skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Compensation & Location

Up to $300,000 in cash compensation plus up to $2,000,000 in carried interest, subject to experience, plus full benefits including 100% employer-paid health insurance. Based in San Francisco, CA, with a mandatory 5 days in office. Strong performers have an accelerated path to Principal as TCG scales Fund II, III and beyond.
