Vice President, Opportunistic Private Credit Team (Asset-Based and Specialty Finance focus)

Vice President, Opportunistic Private Credit Team — New York, NY (Hybrid: Mon–Wed in office)

Nomura Capital Management (NCM) is seeking a seasoned Vice President to join its Opportunistic Private Credit Team with an asset-based and specialty finance focus for the Nomura Alternative Income Fund (NAIFX).

The candidate will play a critical role in sourcing and managing deal flow, working closely with the PM team and research team to deploy capital effectively. The VP will lead the sourcing and diligence of private credit co-investments alongside third-party originators and fund managers.

Requirements:

- 5-7 years of credit experience in private asset-based, specialty finance, and/or structured products

- Familiarity with interval funds and the asset-based and specialty finance fund management universe

- Nuanced understanding of underlying transaction risk profiles

Key Responsibilities:

- Source and diligence investment strategies within asset-based and specialty finance sectors

- Engage with fund managers and industry participants; underwrite specific investments, co-investments, and direct investments

- Complete thematic market research to identify new sub-strategies and emerging areas

- Leverage the broader NCM and Nomura organizations for deal flow and execution
