VP/Senior Investment Associate - Infrastructure Debt

Role Overview

L&G's Asset Management business, a major investor across public and private markets with $1.533 trillion in AUM, is hiring a Senior Investment Associate to join its US Private Credit team in Chicago. The role covers origination, analysis, execution, and management of investment grade debt private placements, with a primary focus on infrastructure issuers, plus structured finance and corporate sectors. US Private Credit is part of a global team of 50+ investment professionals managing a portfolio of more than $30 billion, covering North American and Australian transactions.

Key Responsibilities

- Work with colleagues in Chicago and London to originate, underwrite, execute, and manage infrastructure debt investment opportunities

- Filter potential investments for suitability based on credit, value, duration, and portfolio fit

- Conduct fundamental investment due diligence including credit and legal analysis, and prepare investment committee materials

- Collaborate with internal PMs, Ratings, and Legal teams to ensure investments meet client guidelines

- Manage existing investments by reviewing financial and compliance reports and updating risk views

- Support capital-raising marketing efforts and develop investment solutions for borrowers

- Help formulate broader investment strategy by identifying suitable transactions and sub-sectors

Qualifications

- 8-12 years' experience in buy-side debt private placements, with experience across infrastructure debt sectors

- Experience in a bank credit program or with an infrastructure sponsor is a plus

- Strong communication and analytical skills; expertise in investment diligence, rating agency methodologies, legal documentation, and financial modeling
