Vice President, External Investing Group Real Estate Primaries, Goldman Sachs Asset Management

Goldman Sachs Asset Management External Investing Group (XIG) manages and advises on more than $500 billion of alternative and traditional investments across 13 offices globally. The XIG Real Estate platform ($20 billion AUM) seeks a Vice President for its Real Estate Primaries team, responsible for manager selection, due diligence, portfolio construction, and ongoing oversight of external real estate investments.

Key responsibilities include playing a senior role across the XIG Real Estate Primaries platform globally — manager sourcing, due diligence, underwriting, negotiation, IC approval, post-close monitoring, and re-up decision-making for primary fund commitments to third-party real estate managers across core, core-plus, value-add, opportunistic, and RE credit segments. The VP will also co-manage the Goldman Sachs Real Estate Diversified Income Fund (REDIF / Ticker: GSRHX), contributing to top-down positioning (public vs. private; equity vs. credit; sector and geography allocation) and bottom-up fund and security selection.

The role involves investing on behalf of institutional mandates from sovereign wealth funds, pension plans, endowments, financial institutions, and family offices, as well as managing commingled fund vehicles and serving as senior fiduciary for approximately $10 billion of real estate assets for OCIO clients.

Candidates should have deep expertise in real estate fund investing, strong manager diligence skills, and significant experience in fund-of-funds or primary fund investing. Strong analytical skills and ability to develop institutional relationships are essential.
