Associate - Private Equity

Project A is a Berlin-based tech investor with over €1.3 billion in assets under management, operating two dedicated investment strategies: early-stage venture capital investments and co-investments with leading private equity funds in buyout and growth transactions. The firm has invested in over 130 companies including European leaders such as sennder, Trade Republic, Spryker, LUQOM, and yoummday, with a platform team of over 120 functional experts providing operational support.

Project A is launching a new buyout fund with approximately €200 million in equity commitments targeting small-cap DACH companies with high growth ambitions. The firm is seeking a (Senior) Associate to join the inaugural investment team led by two experienced Private Equity Partners.

As an Associate, you will take a highly entrepreneurial role covering the full deal cycle:

- Applied AI: Continuously improving investment workflows and portfolio value creation through customized AI tools and processes

- Deal Sourcing & Origination: Identifying investment themes and actively sourcing platform and add-on investment opportunities; building networks and identifying off-market deal flow

- Financial, Company & Market Analysis: Deep financial modeling, LBO analysis, market research, and competitive benchmarking

- Due Diligence: Supporting and executing full-scope due diligence across commercial, financial, and legal workstreams

- Transaction Execution: Preparing investment memoranda, coordinating with management teams, advisors, and legal counsel

- Portfolio Support: Assisting with post-acquisition value creation initiatives across Project A portfolio companies

Ideal candidates bring 2–4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, or strategy consulting, with strong financial modeling skills. The role is based in Berlin within an established tech investing platform.
