Investment Manager - Private Equity

Project A is a Berlin-based tech investor with over €1.3 billion in assets under management, operating two dedicated investment strategies: early-stage venture capital investments and co-investments with leading private equity funds in buyout and growth transactions. The firm has invested in over 130 companies, including European leaders such as sennder, Trade Republic, Spryker, LUQOM, and yoummday, supported by a platform team of over 120 functional experts.

Since 2016, Project A has co-invested with leading PE funds including EQT, Oakley, and Bregal in mid-market buyout and growth transactions. The firm is now transitioning from a co-investment model to a direct investment strategy, launching a new buyout fund with approximately €200 million in equity commitments focused on small-cap buy-and-build transactions in DACH.

As a Private Equity Investment Manager, you will join the inaugural team led by two experienced Private Equity Partners, taking a highly entrepreneurial role to shape the build-up of this new direct investment strategy.

Key responsibilities include:

- Strategy Development: Co-designing and refining the direct PE strategy, defining investment themes, targets and criteria

- Deal Sourcing & Origination: Actively sourcing platform and add-on investment opportunities, building networks and identifying off-market deal flow

- Financial & Market Analysis: Deep market research, competitive benchmarking, and financial modeling including LBO models

- Due Diligence: Leading and coordinating full scope due diligence processes with internal and external stakeholders

- Transaction Execution: Structuring and negotiating deal terms, managing legal documentation

- Portfolio Management: Working closely with portfolio companies to drive operational improvements and value creation

Ideal candidates bring 4–7 years of PE or investment banking experience with strong deal execution skills. The role is Berlin-based and part of an established tech investing platform.
