Manager/Sr. Manager, Portfolio Development

Role Overview

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), the world's largest dedicated fund manager within greenfield renewable energy investments, is hiring a Manager/Sr. Manager for its Portfolio Development team in London or Copenhagen. The team sits within the COO's function and works at the early, pre-investment stage of the opportunity spectrum — developing ideas and commercial initiatives across CIP's fund strategies, technologies, and geographies until they are ready to be handed to an investment team.

Key Responsibilities

- Frame and evaluate early-stage opportunities from first principles and structure them commercially

- Run underlying analysis: power market fundamentals, industry and company analysis, policy and macro research

- Turn theses into pursuable opportunities (target companies, greenfield project/market development) and mature them to fund-ready status

- Build internal and external support across fund teams, partners, and counterparties

- Develop high-quality presentations, memos, and briefings for executives

- Support senior CIP members on whole-of-firm commercial initiatives and cross-fund programmes

Qualifications

- 5-7 years of relevant experience with exposure to the energy industry, gained in consulting, an energy industry player, or financial services

- M&A experience and financial modelling a plus, not essential

- Structured problem-solving with strong analytical rigor

- Commercial drive to turn well-researched ideas into investable opportunities

- Strong written and oral communication skills
