Associate, AI & Data Infrastructure

Role Overview

Bessemer Venture Partners is hiring an Associate to join its investing team focusing on early-stage opportunities in data infrastructure, AI infrastructure, and developer tools, working directly with Lauri Moore. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area (Redwood City / San Francisco).

Key Responsibilities

- Build authentic relationships within technical communities through meetups and engagement

- Proactively source promising founders and companies using technical intuition and networks

- Develop investment theses on emerging technical domains

- Lead comprehensive due diligence on prospective investments

- Support portfolio companies with hiring, introductions, and strategic guidance

- Collaborate across teams to identify opportunities

Qualifications

- Strong technical foundation (CS degree, ML PhD, software engineering experience, or founder background)

- Natural social instincts and community-building abilities

- Independent thinking and contrarian perspectives

- 2-5+ years professional experience in technical roles

- AI fluency with current products, models, and research understanding

- San Francisco Bay Area residency required

Compensation & Benefits

$175,000 annual base salary, performance bonuses, shadow carry opportunities, co-investment access, comprehensive healthcare, unlimited PTO, learning stipends, and mentorship programs.
