Private Equity Associate

A boutique private equity firm focused on technology and technology-enabled services is seeking a Private Equity Associate to join its investment team in New York. The firm operates in a lean, high-performance environment and is looking for a candidate with 1-3 years of investment banking experience who can contribute meaningfully across the full deal lifecycle.

The Associate will lead analytical workstreams across active deals, building and enhancing LBO models, three-statement models, and scenario analyses. The role involves supporting full-cycle M&A execution, including industry research, financial diligence, customer analyses, and operational workstreams. You will coordinate with third-party advisors on market studies, legal diligence, and quality of earnings reviews.

Beyond deal execution, the role includes meaningful portfolio responsibilities: monitoring KPIs, analyzing market maps, evaluating potential add-on acquisitions, and working closely with senior investment professionals on ongoing portfolio initiatives. The Associate will also participate in proactive sourcing efforts—researching subsectors, identifying attractive targets, and developing data-driven investment theses.

Requirements include advanced Excel skills (LBO modeling, three-statement builds, scenario analysis), proficiency with transaction-level datasets, and 1-3 years of relevant investment banking experience. The ideal candidate demonstrates the ability to think independently, pressure-test assumptions, and thrive in a high-responsibility, direct-access environment.
