About This Role

Intuitive Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of Intuitive (maker of the da Vinci surgical system), is seeking an Investment Professional at the VP/Principal level to drive investments in MedTech and HealthTech.

Role Overview

The VP/Principal investor plays a crucial leadership role in driving the investment process, managing a portfolio of investments, and contributing to the firm's strategic direction. This individual is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and securing investment opportunities, often leading the process from initial deal sourcing through negotiation and closing.

Key Responsibilities

- Deal Sourcing & Relationship Management: Proactively identify and evaluate investment opportunities in MedTech and HealthTech, cultivating relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, and key industry players. Represent the firm at major industry events and conferences.

- Deal Evaluation & Execution: Lead in-depth due diligence including competitive landscaping, business analysis, technology assessments, IP review, market access, and clinical/regulatory strategy. Lead deal negotiation, term structuring, and closing.

- Portfolio Company Support: Provide strategic guidance and operational support to portfolio companies, potentially serving as board observer. Drive key initiatives including strategic planning, business development, and fundraising.

- Research & Thesis Development: Develop and champion investment theses in emerging MedTech and HealthTech sectors; lead market landscape analysis.

Qualifications

- 7–10 years of relevant professional experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, consulting, or business/corporate development within healthcare or life sciences.

- Alternatively, 3+ years in venture capital with prior C-level operational experience in MedTech/biotech.

- Track record of successful healthcare investments, due diligence, and value creation.

- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MD, PhD, or MBA) required.

- Strong understanding of the MedTech industry, financial modeling, and valuation.

- Salary: $192,000–$288,000 (Region 1); up to 30% travel including international.
