Private Equity Analyst/Associate

Tecum Capital, a Pittsburgh-based lower middle-market private equity firm founded in 2006, is seeking a Private Equity Analyst/Associate to join its investment team in Pittsburgh, PA.

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site investment role with broad exposure across the deal lifecycle, from sourcing and evaluation through portfolio management and value creation. The successful candidate will work across private equity and mezzanine debt investments.

Responsibilities

- Evaluate new investment opportunities by reviewing CIMs, conducting due diligence, and preparing investment committee memoranda

- Build complex financial models in Excel to analyze return profiles and creditworthiness of acquisition targets

- Conduct business and market research, including calls with industry experts, to assess growth prospects and competitive dynamics

- Support portfolio companies with financial analysis, add-on acquisitions, KPI management, and strategic growth initiatives

- Assist with monthly KPI tracking, quarterly covenant compliance, and portfolio company valuations

- Participate in meetings with management teams, financing sources, M&A intermediaries, and investors

Qualifications

- Strong understanding of accounting, financial statements, and quantitative techniques

- Business intuition and critical thinking to evaluate investment opportunities

- Self-starter with effective time management across multiple workstreams

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Intellectual curiosity and passion for investing and business strategy

- Professional demeanor to represent Tecum Capital externally
