Director - Private Equity Portfolio Valuation

A boutique private equity firm headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts is seeking a Director of Private Equity Portfolio Valuation to join its Portfolio Management team, via SDL Search Partners.

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio, the Director will take ownership of a wide-ranging scope of valuation and portfolio monitoring responsibilities at a highly reputable, small PE firm with a top-pedigree team.

Key responsibilities include managing valuation models and fund models, liquidity planning, and quantitative portfolio analysis; serving as a business partner to internal and external parties related to firm holdings and new investments; preparing all quarterly, annual, and required valuations for firm investments; and coordinating with Audit, Compliance, and Risk teams for reporting and valuation committee meetings.

The role offers high visibility, a broad scope, above-market variable compensation, and the opportunity to operate as a strategic right-hand to the Head of Portfolio. The firm operates on a hybrid basis in Boston.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years of experience in private equity portfolio valuations (internal or advisory), or a background in investment banking or corporate business development. An MBA is a plus.
