Director of Investments

A prestigious university endowment in NYC managing over billion in capital is seeking a Director of Investments. The investment team consists of 8 investment professionals investing across a broadly diversified range of asset classes including private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, real assets, and fixed income.

Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, the Director develops and implements investment strategy and risk management frameworks for assigned asset classes, leads research and portfolio management processes including sourcing investments and conducting qualitative and quantitative analytical work.

Key responsibilities include: investment manager sourcing, screening, research, and ongoing due diligence; performing quantitative and qualitative analysis of existing and prospective fund managers; participating in meetings with investment managers including occasional travel; portfolio-level reporting on performance, exposures, liquidity, and cash flows; preparing investment memos to analyze the portfolio and outline market trends; and mentoring junior analysts.

Qualifications: 7+ years of relevant work experience at an endowment, foundation, corporate or public plan sponsor, family office, or asset management firm; experience in a leading role in the diligence of external investment managers; strong financial modeling skills and general knowledge of portfolio theory, capital markets, and private equity; CFA preferred. Salary: 00,000-40,000 base per NYC Pay Transparency Act.
