<h2>Asset Class Head of Private Equity – NYC Bureau of Asset Management</h2><p>The New York City Office of the Comptroller's Bureau of Asset Management (BAM) is seeking an Asset Class Head of Private Equity to lead its private equity investment program across the five NYC pension systems. This senior investment leadership role reports directly to the Chief Investment Officer and oversees a team of investment professionals managing a significant allocation within the city's pension portfolio.</p><h3>Key Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Manage and supervise a team of investment professionals focused on private equity</li><li>Identify and evaluate new and follow-on investment opportunities through rigorous due diligence</li><li>Conduct technical and quantitative analysis of investment manager track records and fund performance</li><li>Present investment recommendations to internal investment committees and Boards of Trustees of the five NYC pension systems</li><li>Monitor ongoing portfolio performance and conduct financial analyses of existing investments</li><li>Review legal documents and negotiate investment terms and partnership agreements</li><li>Participate in limited partner advisory committee meetings and industry forums</li><li>Design and implement annual private equity investment plans and strategy</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Advanced degree in finance, economics, or business plus 10+ years of progressive experience in financial services (managing $25B+ in assets) with at least 18 months supervisory experience, OR</li><li>Bachelor's degree plus 12+ years of equivalent experience with supervisory track record</li><li>Senior private equity investment experience with deep knowledge of partnership underwriting and fund valuation</li><li>Investment manager due diligence expertise; CFA or CAIA certification preferred</li><li>Strong financial analysis, writing, and presentation abilities</li></ul><h3>Compensation &amp; Location</h3><p>Fixed annual salary of $327,750. Position is based at 1 Centre Street, Manhattan, New York. NYC residency required within 90 days of appointment. Full-time, non-competitive civil service position at the M7 (Manager) level.
