About This Role

NY Green Bank (NYGB), a specialized investment fund and division of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is hiring a Managing Director for its Community Development Investment Group (CDIG) in New York City.

NYGB is dedicated to mobilizing private capital to accelerate clean energy and renewable infrastructure development in New York State, partnering with the private sector to transform financing markets and develop replicable transaction structures.

The Managing Director will co-lead NYGB's community-development real estate lending program, focused on clean energy and building decarbonization projects — including those serving disadvantaged communities. The MD owns the full investment lifecycle from origination through portfolio management, leading a team of VPs, Associates, and Analysts.

Core responsibilities include end-to-end deal execution: originating, underwriting, structuring, negotiating, closing, and monitoring real estate transactions (affordable housing, commercial, community facilities) leveraging LIHTC, NMTC, Opportunity-Zone credits, C-PACE financing, and other state and local incentive programs. The MD will prepare and present to the Investment Committee and manage portfolio risk oversight.

This role requires deep expertise in community development real estate finance, including tax credit structures (LIHTC, NMTC), and a demonstrated track record in originating and closing complex structured transactions.
