About This Role
Napier Park Real Assets is seeking an Investment Associate to join its New York-based team. Napier Park Real Assets is a private equity strategy managing approximately $1.7 billion of capital across five funds, investing in transportation and renewable energy assets and businesses in partnership with operators and management teams.
The team invests across leased freight railcars in North America, commercial aircraft globally, and renewable energy projects including solar and battery storage in the UK. The Real Assets team is actively raising capital for its $1+ billion evergreen rail leasing fund, as well as a geographically specific leasing mandate that spans multiple asset types.
This role represents an opportunity to participate in a growing business focused on a wide variety of investment, financing, and capital-raising activities in an entrepreneurial setting with significant upward mobility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the senior team in analyzing new investment opportunities including participating in and leading due diligence, financial modeling, preparing presentations, industry research, and investment structuring
- Work with partner management teams to monitor existing investments, formulate strategic priorities, manage financial and operational reporting, and execute financings, divestitures, and exits
- Support equity fundraising efforts with existing and potential LPs
- Support origination efforts including developing investment themes and conducting research on industries and potential investment targets
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in investing, consulting, banking, or corporate development
- Interest in transportation, renewable energy, and/or financial services
- Strong track record of academic and professional accomplishment
- Excellent analytical, financial, and accounting skills including mastery of financial modelling
- Entrepreneurial drive and ability to independently manage time and deadlines
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with sophisticated counterparties
