About This Role
HarbourVest Partners is seeking an Associate to join its Primary Investing team in London. HarbourVest is one of the world's oldest and largest private markets investment firms, managing over $120 billion in assets across primary funds, secondary investments, and direct co-investments globally. The Primary Investing team evaluates new fund commitments to private equity and venture capital managers worldwide, with a focus on identifying top-quartile GPs across buyout, growth equity, venture capital, and credit strategies. The Associate will conduct comprehensive due diligence on prospective fund managers, including quantitative performance analysis, qualitative assessment of team strength and investment process, and competitive positioning within their respective markets. Responsibilities include preparing detailed investment theses and recommendations for the Investment Committee, developing financial models to project portfolio performance under various scenarios, and monitoring an existing portfolio of fund commitments. Building and maintaining relationships with GPs across the ecosystem is a key part of the role. Candidates should have 2-3 years of experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking, or institutional asset management, with strong analytical skills and a genuine interest in private markets fund selection.
