About This Role

Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management is seeking a Vice President to join its Alternatives Infrastructure Investing team in New York. As part of one of the world's leading asset managers with over $2 trillion in assets under supervision, the VP will support the sourcing, execution, and portfolio management of infrastructure investments across core, core-plus, and value-add strategies.

The role offers a hands-on position across the full investment lifecycle, working closely with senior deal team members and portfolio company management teams.

Key responsibilities span three areas. On the investment execution side, the VP will lead and support all aspects of the investment process, including deal sourcing and screening, financial modeling and valuation, and commercial, technical, regulatory, ESG, and legal due diligence. The VP will also structure, negotiate, and execute transactions, and prepare investment materials for internal review and Investment Committee presentations.

For portfolio management, the VP will actively support portfolio companies post-close, including board participation and observer roles, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, financings, and exits, and ongoing performance monitoring and valuation analysis. The role requires close coordination with internal partners across Capital Markets, ESG, Risk, Legal, and Operations.

The team focuses on infrastructure subsectors including energy transition, power, utilities, transportation, and digital infrastructure. The VP is expected to develop deep expertise across these areas, track market trends and regulatory developments, and support thematic research and proactive sourcing initiatives.

The role also carries team leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and overseeing Associates and Analysts, and collaborating across global Infrastructure and Alternatives teams.

Candidates should have 7 to 10 or more years of total experience in infrastructure investing, private equity, energy and transition investing, or related sectors. Prior experience at infrastructure private equity or credit funds, private equity funds with strong infrastructure exposure, or investment banking with a focus on Infrastructure, Power, Energy, or Sponsors coverage is preferred. Candidates must demonstrate experience across the full investment cycle from sourcing through execution and portfolio management, with strong financial modeling, structuring, and investment committee presentation skills.
