About This Role

Goldman Sachs Asset Management is seeking a Vice President to join its Vintage Strategies platform within the External Investing Group (XIG). The Vintage Platform is Goldman Sachs' dedicated secondary investing franchise, with leadership in the secondaries space since 1998. Since inception, the Vintage Funds have raised nine globally diversified secondary funds and four strategy-specific vehicles, having invested over $85 billion across more than 750 secondary transactions. The team recently completed investing Vintage IX, a $14.2 billion diversified secondaries fund, and is currently raising Vintage X with a target of $15 billion.

The VP will lead and conduct due diligence to evaluate transactions across multiple deal types. On the private equity side, this includes continuation vehicle and single-company secondary investments with a focus on fundamental company-level due diligence, valuation, negotiation, transaction structuring, and post-investment value-add in partnership with controlling PE sponsors. For LP secondary transactions, the role involves fundamental asset-level valuation within diversified private equity portfolios across a broad range of deal types and sectors.

Additional deal types include portfolio finance transactions (lending and structured asset-backed liquidity solutions for limited partners, PE sponsors, and other owners of private assets) and credit secondary transactions (acquisition of direct and indirect portfolios of private credit).

The VP will drive investment committee materials, present investment opportunities through written and oral presentations, and conduct follow-up analysis. Over time, they will develop domain expertise in key sectors or transaction types and support broader team initiatives through relationship development and transaction sourcing.

Requirements include a minimum of five years of experience in investing roles (private equity, private credit, secondaries, or other principal investment strategies) or advisory roles (investment banking or management consulting), combined with excellent investment judgment and strong quantitative and analytical skills.
