Associate / Associate Director, Investment & Acquisitions

DESRI (formerly D.E. Shaw Renewable Investments) is a market-leading owner and operator of renewable energy infrastructure throughout the United States, with approximately 11 gigawatts of contracted capacity across a portfolio of over 70 projects in 24 states.

DESRI seeks associates and associate directors (title commensurate with experience) to join the Finance & Acquisitions or Strategy teams. These roles involve strategy analysis, new market identification, M&A activity, and financing transactions across DESRI's renewable energy business.

Finance & Acquisitions team responsibilities include building and reviewing financial models for management investment decisions, leading due diligence through deal processes, managing third-party deliverables, and supporting transaction leads on debt, tax equity financings, acquisitions, and opportunistic sales across new and existing projects in development, under construction, or in operation.

Strategy team responsibilities include supporting market strategy and project origination decisions through power market research, trend tracking, analysis of electricity market fundamentals across the United States to identify attractive renewable energy and energy storage markets, researching demand opportunities with corporations and utilities, and conducting competitive benchmarking.

Candidates should have an undergraduate degree and at least two years of experience, along with strong financial modeling capabilities (preferably in Excel). Both positions are based in New York.
