About This Role
<p><strong>KEY PURPOSE:</strong></p><p>The Vice President’s primary responsibility will be to manage the screening, diligence, structuring, and execution of LP-led investments. The VP will work as part of a larger team focused on LP-led investments. The team’s activities are led by experienced Partners/Principals and the individual will be supported by a team of associates.</p><p><strong>KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p><p><strong>Investments</strong></p><p>o Coordinate screening of new opportunities, the detailed analysis of those opportunities (with support of the junior team), preparation of investment committee materials and presentation of final investment recommendations to various stakeholders<br>o Manage junior team in connection with their analysis work on specific transactions and also their work on non-transaction tasks (e.g. quarterly fund updates, preparation of ad-hoc reports)<br>o Manage structuring, execution and closing of transactions. To include document<br>negotiation/preparation and coordinating Coller’s in-house legal team, fund administrators, and external board of directors<br>o Build internal relationships with key stakeholders e.g. Finance team, Office of the Chief Investment Officer, Investor Relations and members of Coller Capital’s Investment, Credit and Private Wealth teams<br>o Conduct ongoing market and industry research and be informed about current and developing trends<br>o Manage and develop relationships with external parties, including intermediaries, sponsors and potential sellers<br>o Attendance at AGMs and other industry events, which may require travel at times<br>o Support Principals, Managing Directors and Partners in origination activities</p><p><strong>Post Investment Monitoring</strong></p><p>o Perform ongoing monitoring, analysis and reporting for completed LP-led investments<br>o Liaising with Finance, CIO’s Office, Portfolio Monitoring Committee, Valuation Committee, and Investor Relations on questions relating to prior transactions</p><p><strong>Mentoring, Recruitment and Platform Contribution</strong></p><p>o Sharing knowledge with colleagues<br>o Mentoring of junior team members<br>o Available for interviews with prospective candidates when required<br>o Enhance Coller’s external network & presence</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:</strong></p><p><strong>Essential</strong></p><p>o MBA and/or Bachelors in finance, economics, or a related field<br>o 5-7 years experience within private equity and/or investment banking<br>o Private equity LP-led secondaries’ experience required<br>o Strong technical skills, including ability to read fund financials, financial modelling, and commercial judgment<br>o Experience with negotiation and structuring of legal documentation<br>o Understanding of market structure, dynamics, key players<br>o Strong track record of individual achievement<br>o Exemplary written and verbal communication skills</p><p><strong>COMPETENCIES</strong></p><p><s...
