Investment Associate

Cedar Pine is a family office seeking an Investment Associate for its Private Company Investments Team. Cedar Pine manages a rapidly growing and diverse portfolio of private investments, and this role offers significant impact on the family office investment strategy.

Reporting to the Vice President of Investments, the Investment Associate is responsible for conducting diligence, analyzing companies and industries, and preparing presentations for the investment team. Core responsibilities include performing in-depth due diligence, drafting formal investment memos, and contributing to all stages of the deal lifecycle — from sector research and introductory meetings through due diligence, financial modeling, management calls, investment committee presentations, deal execution, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

Financial modeling responsibilities include integrated three-statement models, discounted cash flow analyses, comparable company analysis, precedent transaction analysis, investment returns analysis, and entity distribution waterfalls.

Candidates must reside in Illinois and are expected to work three days per week in the Northbrook office. Required qualifications include 2-4 years of experience at an investment bank or buy-side institution, with strong quantitative skills and experience with the complete transaction process. An MBA is preferred.
