About This Role

A leading institutional real estate investment platform in the Denver area is seeking a Vice President to join its Investments and Portfolio Management team. This opportunity — sourced through Broekema Group, a Denver-based executive search firm specializing in real estate investment — is well suited for an experienced commercial real estate professional with strong underwriting and analytical capabilities.

The Vice President will sit at the intersection of underwriting, portfolio strategy, and institutional client advisory, with responsibility for evaluating new investments, monitoring existing assets, and delivering recommendations to Investment Committees. The role spans the full investment lifecycle, from initial opportunity screening through ongoing portfolio oversight.

Key responsibilities include underwriting new institutional real estate equity investments with DCF modeling and complex waterfall structures; analyzing opportunities across joint ventures, separate accounts, operating companies, and commingled funds; leading investment partner diligence through track record review, strategy assessment, and management interviews; and monitoring portfolio performance through hold/sell analysis, budget and capital plan review, restructuring, and appraisal oversight. The VP will also track market trends and industry participants to inform investment strategy and portfolio construction, and produce investment-grade reports and presentations for clients and Investment Committees.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor degree and 9+ years of prior commercial real estate underwriting and valuation expertise, with advanced Excel modeling skills (including complex waterfall structures) and prior supervisory experience. Experience with multifamily and/or senior housing strategies is preferred, as is exposure to an institutional investment or advisory platform.

Compensation is $130,000–$160,000 base salary plus a generous bonus plan.
