About This Role

BlackRock's Private Financing Solutions (PFS) team brings together several leading franchises — private credit, GP/LP solutions, and liquid and private credit CLO businesses — under one structure to serve client needs across public and private investments.

BlackRock's Leveraged Finance platform manages high yield bonds, leveraged loans and CLOs. The team is global with investment professionals in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. This is an Associate position within the Leveraged Finance research team in New York.

Responsibilities:

- Work directly supporting two senior investment research analysts in New York to assess primary and secondary investment opportunities within the liquid credit leveraged finance business, including high yield bonds and leveraged loans

- Participate in due diligence of investment opportunities, including conducting company research and preparing financial models and valuation analyses

- Perform market research, including research on potential investments, industries, and competitors

- Assist in monitoring of portfolio investments

- Maintain strong relationships with Portfolio Managers, Traders, Product Strategists, Capital Markets, and other supporting groups

- Experience in Telecom, Gaming, Building Products, Packaging sectors a plus

Requirements:

- 2-3 years of prior experience in investing, investment banking, transaction advisory services, strategy consulting, or corporate valuation

- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint

- Strong financial modeling skills for company analysis

- Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to articulate investment opinions persuasively

- Analytical and critical thinking skills to identify key investment considerations and risks

- Ability to manage workload effectively and deliver quality work on schedule

Salary range for New York, NY: $116,000 - $155,000 annually, plus annual discretionary bonus. Benefits include comprehensive healthcare, retirement benefits, and Flexible Time Off (FTO). BlackRock operates a hybrid work model with a minimum of 4 days in the office per week.
