About This Role

A highly regarded single-family office in Chicago is seeking a Vice President for Private Equity Fund Investments in an allocator-focused investment role.

This is a fund investing seat focused exclusively on allocating capital to private equity managers — not direct company investing. The role calls for strong judgment in assessing PE funds, comparing managers, and building institutional-quality portfolios with a long-term investment horizon.

Key Responsibilities:

Evaluate and select private equity fund managers across strategies and geographies. Conduct deep due diligence on PE funds, covering track record, investment strategy, team composition, and market positioning. Build and manage a diversified portfolio of private markets fund investments across vintages and asset classes. Lead capital allocation decisions across multiple PE managers, contributing to broader portfolio construction and risk management.

Qualifications:

Approximately 6 years of experience in an allocator or fund investments capacity is required. Backgrounds from endowments, single- or multi-family offices, fund-of-funds, or other institutional LP platforms are strongly preferred. Deep experience in private equity fund investing is essential, including manager evaluation and portfolio construction across private markets.

The role offers the opportunity to join a well-resourced, long-term-oriented family office investment team focused on building a best-in-class portfolio of private equity funds across market cycles.

Location: Chicago, IL.
