Investment Director

A specialist investment boutique focused on distressed and special situations investing is seeking an Investment Director to join its senior leadership team in London. The firm operates across complex, often time-sensitive transactions, offering significant exposure to high-impact decision-making. This role is being recruited via Warner Scott Recruitment on a confidential basis.

In this high-impact role, you will work closely with senior leadership across the full deal lifecycle — from origination through to execution and portfolio management. You will lead and support the execution of transactions with particular emphasis on distressed or special situations, assess investment opportunities through financial modeling, valuation, and risk analysis, and drive financial restructuring processes in collaboration with stakeholders to stabilise and optimise performance.

Additional responsibilities include managing due diligence processes and coordinating with external advisers, supporting portfolio companies through periods of transformation or turnaround, and contributing to investment committee materials and strategic discussions.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience in financial restructuring, ideally gained within a professional services or advisory environment, along with proven buy-side deal experience and a track record of executing transactions. Deep understanding of distressed investing, special situations, or turnaround scenarios is essential, as are robust financial modeling skills and commercial judgment. You should be a confident communicator, comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders and management teams, and able to operate effectively in dynamic and sometimes ambiguous situations.
