About This Role

About Flashpoint Flashpoint is an international tech investment firm with approximately $600 million in assets under management (AUM), focusing on U.S. and Western European tech companies originating from Europe and MENA. Flashpoint manages eight funds across three products: Venture Growth, Growth Debt, and Direct Secondary. The firm is headquartered in London, with offices in New York, Tel Aviv, and other financial centers. Flashpoint's Growth Debt fund provides venture lending solutions to high-growth, VC-backed technology companies across Europe. We move fast, structure thoughtfully, and build lasting relationships across the European venture ecosystem. The Role We are hiring an Investment Director into our Growth Debt fund. This is a senior, high-ownership role covering the full investment lifecycle - from origination and underwriting through to IC approval, legal close, and portfolio management. The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to lead investment transactions independently. We are searching for someone with a keen deal-making instinct who can articulate an investment thesis and drive transactions from first conversation to funded close, and the drive to develop a strong presence in the European and US VC ecosystems. Responsibilities: Investment Execution – Co-ordinate and lead the full deal lifecycle: origination, initial screening, detailed financial assessment and modelling, due diligence, IC presentation and approval, and documentation through to close. – Structure and negotiate term sheets, credit agreements, warrant instruments, and security packages - co-ordinating with external counsel and counterpart legal teams. – Present and defend investment recommendations at Investment Committee with clarity and conviction. – Contribute to the strategic development of the Growth Debt product and the optimisation of fund processes and procedures. Portfolio & Relationships – Act as the fund's primary relationship holder with portfolio companies; maintain strong working relationships with founders and management teams, and participate in board meetings where applicable. – Monitor portfolio performance: covenant compliance, draw requests, amendments, and proactive risk management through to repayment or exit. – Develop and maintain a deep network at a senior level within the regional VC ecosystem; represent and promote Flashpoint at external events and industry conferences. Team & Leadership – Support with mentoring and developing more junior members of the investment team. – Contribute to the continuous improvement of fund processes, procedures, and the strategic development of the Growth Debt product. Candidate Profile – At least 5 years of relevant experience in an institutional investment environment, with a focus on private credit - structured credit, special situations, direct lending or venture debt preferred. General investment banking or private equity backgrounds are welcome where there is a clear credit execution angle. – University degree in economics, finance, or a related field. – Demonstrable track record of leading and closing transactions with meaningful personal ownership across the full deal lifecycle: financial assessment, due diligence co-ordination, legal documentation, and IC navigation. – Highly numerate and analytically rigorous; strong financial modelling and financial statement analysis capability. – Experience structuring and negotiating legal documentation - credit agreements, security packages, warrant instruments and intercreditor arrangements; managing external counsel. – Excellent verbal and written presentation skills; confident and credible with internal stakeholders and external counterparts alike. – Strong project management discipline; proven ability to independently manage multiple complex processes simultaneously and deliver timely results. – Experience in the technology/internet sector is preferred; familiarity with tech-enabled business models is a meaningful advantage. Personal Qualities – Independent and entrepreneurial, who thrives with ownership. – Sharp credit instinct: someone who can form a well-reasoned view quickly and defend it. – Strong relationship builder; credible and trusted by founders, investors and co-lenders. – Open-minded, transparent, determined, accurate, reliable and collaborative. – High working capacity; comfortable with a volatile, deal-driven workload. – Ability to work effectively in a flat organisational structure with a high degree of autonomy. What We Offer – Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus annual performance bonus. – Participation in the Growth Debt fund carry programme. – Comprehensive health insurance – Reporting directly to and working closely with the Partners of the fund. – Genuine ownership of deal flow and investment decisions from day one. – Lean, senior team - your voice is heard and matters at IC. – London-based role with European and US coverage mandate.
