At the application traffic layer, only Google processes more volume than Tetrate. We manage 2 trillion application transactions annually ranging from high-frequency API authorization and multi-provider traffic steering to AI agent routing. This is the high-density layer where OpenAI and some of the Fortune 50 solve for performance, observability, cost, and security at scale. At this level of transaction density, a single user interaction triggers a massive cascade of internal operations that legacy infrastructure simply wasn't designed to handle.

As the creators of Envoy Gateway and Envoy AI Gateway, we build technology for environments where reliability, governance, and scale are not optional. The Principal Solutions Architect is a senior, customer-facing technical leader who owns the highest-impact architectural conversations across strategic prospects and customers. You will bridge execution and growth by guiding executive stakeholders through enterprise-scale platform decisions—governance, policy, multi-cluster adoption, and operational readiness—while translating field learnings into repeatable standards and product feedback that compound across multiple deals.

This is a “technical multiplier” role: you will directly influence new logo acquisition and multi-year expansion by reducing adoption risk, shortening the path from PoC to production, and standardising the architecture patterns used across the field.

You will lead executive-level technical alignment across platform, security, and architecture stakeholders, translating platform capabilities into clear adoption and governance decisions for enterprise environments.

You will define and publish enterprise-scale reference architectures for multi-cluster, hybrid, and multi-tenant environments, and generalise repeatable patterns from the field into reusable assets (blueprints, standard workshops, decision frameworks).

You will establish platform governance and policy standards that enable repeatable growth—covering identity, authN/authZ, policy boundaries, traffic management conventions, and operational guardrails—so customers can scale adoption safely and predictably.
