By pairing meaningful investment resources with the largest portfolio impact team of any NYC seed investor, our portfolio companies have reached an industry-best seed-to-A graduation rate. As we continue to grow and scale our hands-on operational support for our companies, we are hiring Portfolio Impact principals to help our founders with financial and business modeling, industry benchmarking, and general strategic support.

The ideal Principal candidate has worked in investment banking, strategy consulting or the NYC tech scene for 5+ years and should be resourceful, data-driven, intellectually curious, and ready to hustle.

As part of the Portfolio Impact team, Principals will develop unparalleled “in the trenches” operating experience alongside our Operating Partners (former C-Suite operators) as well as Primary’s Founders/CEOs. Principals will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our Investment Team in our investment and diligence processes.

As a Principal supporting our portfolio, your day-to-day work will include extensive financial modeling, data room preparation for follow-on fundraises, industry benchmarking, market and competitive research, and general strategic support. Primary has a tradition of promoting from within; this program is not only a great way to position yourself for an Operating Partner or investment role, but also a great jumping off point for a financial leadership role in our portfolio or business school.

The perfect Portfolio Impact Principal

candidate is available to work full-time in NYC

and has the following characteristics:

Consulting or investment banking background as well as operating experience at a tech company. No previous venture experience is required.

A strong analytical toolset. Expect to independently build models and decks and engage in competitive intelligence. Candidates should consider themselves an Excel and modeling savante!

A self-starter who we can trust to outline and execute on a model or diligence plan.
