About This Role
Morgan Stanley Investment Management (MSIM) Private Equity Solutions team is seeking a Senior Associate to join its growing investment platform in suburban Philadelphia. The team manages a global program across primary fund investing, co-investing, and secondaries in developed and emerging markets, with over $27 billion invested across more than 1,200 opportunities as of December 31, 2024.
The team is comprised of over 60 investment professionals based in West Conshohocken (PA), New York, London, and Hong Kong. Private markets strategies span venture capital to leveraged buyouts and special situations, including a strong focus on impact-oriented strategies such as social impact, climate solutions, and racial and gender equity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage investment sourcing, opportunity diligence and evaluation, and portfolio monitoring by reviewing inbound investment materials and meeting with private equity fund managers
- Structure and lead research across geographies, industries, companies, and macroeconomic trends
- Direct junior investment staff in creating and executing financial analyses including comparable company valuations, LBO models, investment return projections with sensitivity analyses, and track record analyses
- Lead strategic initiatives with cross-functional teams related to technology, data systems, marketing, business development, sourcing, and business planning
- Assess performance of specific companies and funds across the private equity asset class
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from a leading university; MBA from a top business school a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, consulting, or private equity fund of funds
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Experience managing investment processes and working with senior professionals
- Willingness to travel up to 40% for investment-related assignments
- Deep interest in private markets investing across the risk spectrum
