About This Role

Morgan Stanley Wealth Management is seeking a Vice President for its GIMA (Global Investment Manager Analysis) Operational Due Diligence team in New York. The GIMA team provides comprehensive manager research across separately managed accounts, mutual funds, ETFs, and private alternative vehicles — including private equity, hedge funds, real estate, and evergreen structures — to support Morgan Stanley Wealth Management investment advisory programs.

The VP will conduct operational due diligence on alternative investment fund managers, both for new prospective relationships and as ongoing monitoring of existing ones. Assessments are performed through onsite meetings with senior investment professionals, desk reviews of DDQs and manager documents, and calls with key service providers including administrators, valuation agents, and auditors. Focus areas include organizational structure and staffing, fund structure, internal operations and controls, valuation practices, service provider oversight, legal and compliance frameworks, and IT/BCP.

The role requires documenting operational risk findings in written reports, presenting conclusions to internal product approval committees, and working with managers to remediate identified deficiencies. The VP will collaborate closely with Investment Due Diligence, Product Management, Legal, Operations, Risk, and Investor Relations teams and stay current on industry trends and regulatory developments affecting alternative investment managers.
