Venture Capital Principal

Connecticut Innovations (CI) is seeking a Venture Capital Principal (possibly Director) to support their Technology Fund and other CI Venture Funds. CI is Connecticut's strategic venture capital arm and one of the most active investors on the eastern seaboard, with a portfolio of 220+ companies across life sciences, technology and climate tech.

CI has invested $700+ million in innovative startups since 1995, with 10X leveraging power ($7+ billion). The fiscal year ending June 30, 2025 saw $45.8 million invested in 67 companies and venture funds.

The Venture Capital Principal will play a pivotal role in the investment due diligence process and post-investment company scaling. Responsibilities include researching promising technology markets, participating in all phases of the investment process including due diligence, management meetings, industry research, financial modeling, investment recommendations, and supporting portfolio companies as board observers.

The Connecticut Technology Fund has provided more than $140 million to Connecticut high-tech companies (140+), focusing on FinTech, InsurTech, SaaS and PaaS early-stage companies.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent, MBA or master's degree, with strong knowledge of financial statements, business plans and legal documents. Candidates should be self-starting, curious, and flexible.
