Associate, Alternative Credit, Asset Management

Ares Management is searching for a highly motivated Associate to join the Alternative Credit Team in New York or Atlanta, focused on Asset Management. Ares Alternative Credit manages approximately $57.3 billion in assets, focusing on asset-based finance (ABF) and tactical asset investing opportunities including specialty finance, equipment leasing, structured products, net lease, and cash-flow streams such as royalties and licensing fees.

Key responsibilities include monitoring the portfolio of private investments; providing support to deal teams with assigned investments; general asset management including confirming fundings, processing monthly settlements, valuation, and asset-level reporting; frequent communication with portfolio companies; developing and running complex models for valuation and reporting purposes; performing mark-to-market valuations; and analyzing asset-level trends and metrics.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or related field; 2+ years of finance or accounting experience with exposure to structured finance/securitization preferred; advanced MS Excel modeling skills including macros and array formulas; self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills.
