Vice President, Investments

American Operator is seeking a VP of Investments to lead end-to-end acquisition of small- to medium-sized businesses, shaping the portfolio for long-term growth and operational excellence. Senior individual contributor role owning deal execution and investment decisions across the investment lifecycle.

Run deal lifecycle from LOI to close, managing diligence, negotiations, and underwriting. Primary point-of-contact for retiring owners and backed operators. Evaluate and prioritize investment opportunities and deploy capital. Lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of transactions. Partner with operators post-close on integration and value creation. Represent firm externally with intermediaries and advisors.

Requirements: 8+ years in private equity and/or investment banking. Experience owning transaction execution from sourcing through close. Deep expertise in financial modeling, structuring, and negotiations. Experience in distribution, manufacturing or services businesses preferred. Lower middle market / SMB acquisitions experience.
